The UK’s largest independent supplier of studio services, dock10 provides production facilities for the BBC, ITV, Sky and Channel 4, as well as Europe’s most technically-advanced HD facility providing the in-house location for a wide range of productions – from commercials to feature films.

Since the studios opened their doors in 2011 we have been supplying Scenic Supervisors & Scenic Operators, efficient local crew able to deliver production support for the tight turnarounds in a studio environment. As this relationship has developed & evolved the crew have honed their skills and understanding of studio work, so much so we’ve become a trusted partner leading to our involvement on filming days; Question Of Sport, University Challenge, CBeebies, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Catchphrase, Naked Attraction and Lee Mack’s 1% Club.

The affiliation between dock10 and Gallowglass has been one of collaboration and, in association with local Salford colleges, we have been able to successfully develop and deliver a bespoke in-house technical apprenticeship scheme to dock10. This initiative has been a key feature of dock10’s ongoing CSR programme through its recruitment and training of young people locally in what is a very new and vibrant industry sector in Salford.

Our first team of Scenic Ops that went into the studios back in 2011 assisted with the set and very little else. The crew have made themselves an intrinsic part of the BP team and are now in there on a weekly basis providing support. Due to the relationship built over time we are now called in to provide cover for permanent members of staff that have fallen ill.

This show has also provided the perfect environment to successfully develop and deliver the in-house technical apprenticeship scheme in partnership with Salford colleges and our Junior Techs are becoming an important part of the team.

Still waiting for our Gold Badge, maybe next year?

We have been supplying Scenic Supervisors and Scenic Operators to the show for nearly 10 years and continue to provide crew for the weekly show. We have become a seamless extension to the studio team leading to our involvement on filming days.
