In the run up to Christmas we had 32 crew in the Royal Albert Hall, over 3 days for Corteo pre-rig and pull testing, after which we installed the Upper Exhibition Floor (another story to tell) the platform on which the show is built.
Another year, another Cirque du Soleil show, the amazing Corteo!
We spent the next 5 days on site, day & night, supporting the rigging, lighting, sound, set, carpentry & the props teams; 190 crew for over 5500 hours.
This build is a little different from usual as for this show the hall is divided in two, creating a stage that spans the diameter of the hall, thus allowing the audience to face one another.
It’s performed on a large circular stage consisting of concentric rotating rings, allowing one area of the stage to rotate while another remained stationary.
Our thanks to all the crew that has helped put this fantastic show in, conscientious, diligent & industrious as always and to our Cirque du Soleil & RAH families, always hardworking & professional we tip our hard hat, always a great way to see the New Year in!
