Having joined the Gallowglass team back in 2011 as a crew member, Antony Cook has climbed the career ladder over the past seven years and has recently been promoted to Head of Business Development and Marketing!
Within just a year of working for our business, Cook had demonstrated a high level of competence and the necessary interpersonal skills to thrive in a higher role. In 2012, he then became a London Crew manager involving himself in many events including the Olympics! Managing event crews in London can often be very challenging and involve very tight deadlines; however, Cook saw great success in this role, before moving into a new position a year later. Cook joined the Business Development Group as a Client Liaison Manager in 2013, before progressing to his new Head role in 2018.
Cook discusses his new role within the company: “Gallowglass has an active client list totalling over 2,500 companies, and spanning conferences and exhibitions, festivals, television, theatre, corporate and large-scale sporting events. So much business comes through the door that servicing those clients has almost been a reactive process. So that we can capitalise on all of the business potential that’s out there, my task is to objectively identify the most attractive prospects and restructure our sales function to build on existing relationships and forge new ones in all of the regions and client sectors we operate in.”
Gallowglass Group Managing Director, Nick Grecian said: “Not only does Antony understand every aspect of our business but he’s a brilliant communicator who enjoys the trust and respect of our clients. He’s ideally-placed to combine industry knowledge with a fresh perspective as we move to the next stage of our growth.”
We love to see the evolution of our team, from general crew to more senior positions, and truly value the need for career progression opportunities in the workplace! If you’d like to know more about the members of our Gallowglass team, check out our recent interviews:
